This Hire Agreement sets out the terms on which BSR Tools ("we," "us," "the Owner") hires equipment ("the Equipment") to you ("you," "the Hirer"). It applies once your hire has been confirmed by a member of our team — submitting an enquiry or booking request through the website does not by itself create a hire contract; see our Terms of Use for how a hire is confirmed.

1. The hire period

The hire period runs from the confirmed collection or delivery time to the confirmed return time, as agreed when your hire is confirmed. Charges are calculated on the daily, weekend, or weekly rates shown at the time of booking, or as otherwise agreed with our team.

2. Payment and deposit

No online card payment is currently taken through the website. Payment terms, and whether a deposit is required, will be confirmed with you directly by our team before or at the point of collection/delivery. Any deposit taken may be used to cover unpaid hire charges, fuel, cleaning, damage, or loss, as set out in the sections below, with any balance returned to you.

3. Your responsibilities as Hirer

While the Equipment is on hire to you, you agree to:

4. Condition of the Equipment

We take reasonable care to supply Equipment that is clean, safe, and in good working order. Please check the Equipment at the point of collection or delivery and let us know immediately if you have any concerns about its condition before you start using it.

5. Damage, loss and breakdown

You're responsible for the Equipment from collection/delivery until it's returned to us, and for its repair or replacement cost if it's lost, stolen, or damaged beyond fair wear and tear while on hire to you, except where that loss or damage is caused by a fault in the Equipment itself rather than anything you did. You may wish to check whether your own insurance covers equipment you hire — we're happy to discuss this with you.

If the Equipment breaks down or develops a fault that isn't your responsibility, contact us straight away — we'll repair, replace, or otherwise resolve it as quickly as we reasonably can, and hire charges will be adjusted fairly for any time the Equipment was unusable through no fault of yours.

6. Fuel

Where Equipment is supplied with fuel, please return it with the same fuel level it was supplied with. If it's returned with less, a refuelling charge applies at the rate confirmed at the time of your hire.

7. Returns and late returns

Please return the Equipment by the agreed date and time, in a clean and reasonable condition. If you need to extend your hire, contact us as early as possible — we can't guarantee an extension if the Equipment is booked out to someone else. Late returns without agreement may incur additional hire charges at our standard rate for the extra time.

8. Cancellations

As no online payment is currently taken, cancelling before your hire has been confirmed by our team carries no charge. Once a hire is confirmed, any cancellation terms (including whether a deposit is refundable) will be explained to you at that point.

9. Our liability

Nothing in this agreement limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so — for example, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for defective equipment under the Consumer Protection Act 1987. Subject to that, we're not liable for indirect losses (such as loss of business or loss of earnings) arising from a hire, except where caused by our negligence or breach of this agreement.

If you're hiring as a consumer, nothing in this agreement affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

10. Governing law

This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.
